Because of the nature of this tour it is only available between the months of June and September.

DAY 1:
Arrival into Cancun and transfer to Hotel
Upon arrival, you will be met by your rep and transfered to your hotel in Cancún. Where you will receive a welcome drink. Settle in and enjoy the facilities of your Hotel.IRLexotic   (AI)

DAY 2:
CANCUN
This is free day to enjoy and relax after your journey.    (AI)

DAY 3:
ISLA CONTOY: BIRD ISLAND
Today is the start of your MAYAN SAFARI. After breakfast we will pick you up at your Hotel for your visit to ISLA CONTOY.
which is located 45 minutes from Isla Mujeres. The island is uninhabited and visited by groups of biologists who monitor and study the eco system of the Island.
During your tour you will be able to observe frigates, brown pelicans and the double breasted cormorant, among other varieties of birds. The Island is also an important nesting place for sea turtles, and during the summer months you might see them laying their eggs on the sandy beaches. Swim, snorkel and discover the spectacular underwater life abundant in the area. Before heading back to your Hotel we will have lunch on Isla Contoy.    (AI)

DAY 4:
CHICHEN-ITZA
Today is a trip back into the past. CHICHEN-ITZA is a UNESCO World Heritage site, centre of what was the Mayan Civilization. In 2007 it was voted the new fifth Wonder of the World. Along the way we will travel through small Mayan communities and you will see how the Mayan descendants still hold firm to their traditions. After your guided tour of this Wonder we will have lunch in Chichen Itza. We return to the Hotel in time for a dinner and one of the many night attractions that Cancun has to offer.    (AI)

DAY 5:
TULUM
After breakfast, your driver will collect you for your trip to TULUM, a very important commercial centre in the Mayan Past. The City of Tulum was the first Mayan community reportedly sighted by the Spanish in the 16th century. During our drive we will pass through the fishing village of PLAYA DEL CARMEN, where we will stop for a snack after which we will take a stroll through the town centre. We continue on our journey where upon arrival out the TULUM Pyramids we will enjoy the unique magic of this ancient mayan community which has the worlds second largest barrier reef as a backdrop. Before returning to your Hotel we will have lunch at a restaurant on one of the many beautiful stretch of beach, so make sure to bring your bathing suit.     (AI)

DAY 6:
ISLA HOLBOX: SHARK ISLAND
Today we leave Cancun and head south along the coast to visit ISLA HOLBOX. One of Mexico's best kept secrets, Holbox’s white sandy beaches, beautiful sunsets, palm trees and rustic atmosphere makes it an ideal setting for a romantic getaway. This is also a place full of activities, famous for its exceptional marine life The famous Whale Shark is a frequent visitor during the summer months. It is possible to swim with this amazing mammal and, if you are lucky, to see the giant manta ray, turtles and dolphins. In less than 30 minutes by boat are PASSION ISLAND, BIRD ISLAND and the famous pirate refuge of YALAHOO LAGOON. These areas are rich in bird and animal life, including flamingos, pelicans, ducks, as well as iguanas and many other species. Holbox is the perfect place to relax in harmony with MOTHER NATURE.IRLexotic   (RO)

DAY 7:
AKUMAL: LAND OF TURTLE
Waking early to discover the fauna of the area. There are a number of options for you to choose, including a shark tour, visiting Passion Island, Bird Island or the Yahaloo Lagoon. We depart from Holbox at 3.30pm where we continue our Safari to AKUMAL . Located on the Riviera Maya, AKUMAL means the land of Turtles in Maya. Famous for snorkeling, fishing diving and of course relaxing.   (RO)

AKUMAL
This is a day for relaxation and enjoying the wonderful beach.   (RO)

DAY 9:
SIAN KAAN: WHERE HEAVEN WAS BORN
After checking out we continue our journey to the reserve of SIAN KAAN, declared a UNESCO World Heritage site in 1987. We will have the opportunity to explore the jungle. Snorkel in a cenote (sinkhole) and enjoy the lush tropical forests and mangroves. SIAN KAAN also has more than 300 species of birds, 103 known mammal species, including jaguars, jaguarondis, howler monkeys, crocodiles, turtles, manatees, which justify for nature lovers the translation of Sian Kaan, "Where Heaven is Born". We will enjoy Lunch before we leave for Tulum. We travel on to Tulum where we will overnight in a Beach Cabin on the coast and enjoy a glass of wine while admiring the stars and sounds of the Caribbean. After breakfast we will check out and head for CHETUMAL. Located 3 hours from Tulum, Chetumal is the gateway to Central America. Chetumal is a combination between old and new, with a provincial atmosphere, colorful wooden colonial buildings and free markets.   (RO)

DAY 10:
CHETUMAL
Chetumal is the golden opportunity to live the Mexican everyday way of life. In the afternoon we will cross into the free zone of BELIZE (Optional]) for some shopping
Evening at leisure. Overnighting in Chetumal.   (BB)

DAY 11:
OXTENKAH/KOHUNLICH
Today we visit the archeological zone of Oxtankah, located 16 km from Chetumal. Oxtankah was named after the large amount of Ramon which can be found on the site, as the original name of the settlement remains unknown. This is both the largest and most important pre-Hispanic to be found in the bay of Chetumal.
Next we will go to Kohunlich. Located 60 Km. from Chetumal, Kohunlich is an ancient Mayan city. Its recently invented name derives from the mayanasation of the English ‘cohune ridge’, place of the cohunes, small coconut palms which are numerous in the area. This ancient city flourished between 350 and 900 A.D.
Kohunlich is one of the best archeological sites to observe and study the both the customs and way of life of the ancient Mayas.
On our way back to Chetumal if we are lucky we might see some manatis, which similar to giant seals. The Bay of Chetumal apart from being a place of extreme natural beauty, has been declared a sanctuary for mammals.

DAY 12:
BACALAR: LAGOON OF RAINBOW
Today our Mayan Safari will visit BACALAR,20 minutes from Chetumal. Bacalar is a picturesque village surrounded by a truly beautiful landscape. It is famous for its " lagoon of rainbows" where you can enjoy a swim in its fresh multi-colored water. Next to Bacalar we will explore the Sink Hole known as Cenote Azul, a Blue Cave which is more than 100 meters deep. Before we return to Chetumal we will have a walk through Bacalar Village enjoy a meal in one of the local restaurants and take time to relax as time approaches to return home.   (BB)

DAY 13:
Return to cancun
After an early breakfast we will take the road back to Cancun for an overnight and relaxing evening before your return flight. Along the way, we will have short stops at Tulum and Playa del Carmen for snacks and or a break. Arriving at your Hotel you will have time to enjoy the facilities and if you wish do some last minute souvenir shopping.   (AI)

Transfer to CANCUN INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT
For your flight back home.
