Mayan Jungle & Beach

 

DAY 1:
DEPART DUBLIN FOR CANCUN INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT.
Upon arrival you will be met by your rep and transferred to your Hotel in PLAYA DEL CARMEN (RIVIERA MAYA). On arrival you will receive a welcome drink. Settle in and enjoy the facilities of your Hotel.

DAY 2: Mayan Jungle & Beach
PLAYA DEL CARMEN
This is free day to enjoy and relax after your journey.
Playa Del Carmen is a romantic Fishing village with many activities in the area which can be arranged by our rep in the Hotel.
With spectacular beaches, laid back relaxing atmosphere and proximity to many of the areas activities Playa del Carmen has become more and more popular over the past couple of years.

DAY 5:
SAN CRISTOBAL
Transfer to airport for your flight into Tuxtla Gutierrez international Airport where you will be met by your rep (and transferred to your Hotel in the beautiful colonial city of SAN CRISTOBAL DE LAS CASAS, this is one of Mexico's most beautiful cities. With its cobblestone streets, colorful colonial style houses religious monuments and peaceful surroundings, this city is the perfect start to your holiday experience. Evening free to explore and shop, and absorb the local culture, taking in the incredible churches, monuments, and while at it, doing a little shopping at the Jade and Amber outlets where you are sure to get a bargain. Try to take time to enjoy a drink or coffee at one of the many restaurant/bars in the city.

DAY 6:
CANYON DEL SUMIDERO AND ECOPARK
After Breakfast we start our adventure.
Recently included as one of MEXICO'S 13 wonders, Canyon del Sumidero is an experience not to be missed. Your Rep will pick you up at your Hotel and will transport you to the point of the river where you will board your motor boat for the beginning of the journey through the Canyon.

Traveling through the Canyon you will not only experience, the joy of navigating through one of natures most beautiful scenic routes you will see crocodiles lounging by the river banks, hundreds of butterflies drinking from the sand at the waters edge and many species of birds.

The GRIJALVA, one of Mexico’s most powerful rivers, runs through this 36 million year old geographical fault. The steep walls of the Canyon reach as high as 1000 meters above the river. One of the many amazing rock Formations we will see is known as the Christmas tree, as the natural formation in the cliff sides resemble a Christmas tree. Before returning to San Cristobal de las Casas we will stop at the SUMIDERO ECO PARK where you will enjoy a BUFFET LUNCH at Jardines de San Cristobal and have time to trek. Visit the small zoo where you will see Parrots, Reptiles, and big cats (Puma and Jaguar). Afterwards have a swim in the Pool which has a breathtaking view of the river. We then return to San Cristobal de las Casas for a relaxing evening.

DAY 7:
SAN JUAN CHAMULA AND ZINACANTANIRLexotic
San Juan Chamula and Zinacantan are indigenous communities that still hang on to their beliefs and traditions. They are not prefabricated tourist attractions, rather communities that give you an opportunity to see at first hand how they live.

You will visit ceremonial grave yards and enter a world little known or understood by us. You will visit the Church in San Juan where families and their Doctors (Healers) congregate to perform a mixture of Christian and indigenous ceremonies.

In Zinacantan you will get the opportunity to visit a typical indigenous home and see at first hand the ancient art of BODY WEAVING which produces very colorful and beautiful garments and crafts. This being the way the community make their living. You will be invited to partake in a humble meal of handmade tortilla, cheese and sauces and try the traditional and potent local brew known as "posh" you are then transferred back to your Hotel where if feel like a little night life we will provide you with a list of local bars and restaurants.

DAY 8:
EL CHIFLON
We now travel to the magical Waterfalls of EL CHIFLON.
we will trek through the jungle and visit the spectacular Waterfall known as the Brides Veil. Deep in the jungle, the top of the fall is 2000 feet high, but the warm spray during the climb makes it a very comfortable trek. Before returning we will have lunch at the on site restaurant. Overnight in San Cristobal de las Casas

DAY 9:
CHIAPAS TO CANCUN
Our Jungle and Culture adventure ends here as we head to what is known as one of the Worlds top resorts CANCUN.
Cancun has it all. Top class restaurants, night clubs, great shopping, top of the line hotels, and golden beaches that stretch for miles: in short, a resort that has something for everyone. Your Rep will be on hand to offer you advice on what tours to take

DAY 10:
CHICHEN ITZA
Today is a trip back into the past. CHICHEN-ITZA is a UNESCO World Heritage site, centre of what was the Mayan Civilization. In 2007 it was voted the new fifth Wonder of the World.

Along the way we will travel through small Mayan communities and you will see how the Mayan descendants still hold firm to their traditions.
After your guided tour of this Wonder we will have lunch in Chichen Itza.

We return to the Hotel in time for a dinner and one of the many night attractions that Cancun has to offer.

DAY 11:
FREE DAY IN CANCUNIRLexotic
Relax and just kick back again your rep is available for any information that you might need.

DAY 12:
FREE DAY IN CANCUN
Relax and if you wish, a shopping tour can be organized to pick up last minute gifts.

DAY 13:
Breakfast and then your transfer to Cancun International Airport
