THE JESUIT MISSIONS: THREE DAYS (M1 and M2)
1st DAY: SANTA CRUZ - SAN IGNACIO At 8.00 a.m. we will leave the hotel for San Ignacio. The trip takes approximately 9 hours. We will have lunch in San Javier or Concepción and dinner in San Ignacio. We will spend the night at San Ignacio.
2nd DAY: SAN IGNACIO - ROUND TRIP TO THE MISSIONS IN CONCEPCIÓN After breakfast in San Ignacio we will start our trip along the highway towards the missions. We will see some of the most beautiful Jesuit Missions such as San Miguel, San Rafael and Santa Ana. On the way we will have lunch in one of the communities or in San Ignacio and visit the church of San Ignacio. In the afternoon we will continue our trip to Concepción. The trip will take approximately 3 hours. We will have dinner in Concepción and stay there overnight.
3rd DAY: CONCEPCIÓN – SAN JAVIER – SANTA CRUZ After breakfast we will visit the church, the museum, souvenir shops and other places of interest. We will have lunch in Concepción. In the afternoon we will drive to San Javier in order to visit the church and the museum there. Then we will continue our trip to Santa Cruz. The trip will take approximately 5 hours. We will reach Santa Cruz in early evening hours and bring you to the hotel. This is the end of our trip with you. Madidi National Park is a newly created preserve (dedicated in 1995), in the northwest region of Bolivia. This national treasure protects a full array of ecosystems, stretching from the high Andes to the Amazon basin.
The park is home to more than 1000 species of birds, 44% of all New World species of mammals and an estimated 38% of neotropical amphibians. It is also a critical global hotspot for endemic plants.
This part of Bolivia is the place to see the Giant Otter, Brazilian Tapir, White-leap Peccary, Harpy Eagle, several large macaws, Andean Bear, Jaguar and other wild cats, Black Caiman, over a dozen of primates including the Black Spider and Common Woolly monkeys.
